The PLAN9 group develops Apps for hand-held devices. Our first App, the PLAN9 player, features synchronized sound and text with hands-free page turning and user-selectable audio speeds for language learning and training 'on the go'. Pronunciation and comprehension are vastly improved with simple repeated listening while gains in spelling and reading follow the use of the App in the full audio-visual mode.
The introductory player will include a brief sampling of a French, Spanish and English title and a catalog of available titles that can then be ordered directly from within the App. The three languages currently available include 27 titles immediately—with more to come. The publisher of these titles, Editions Entrefilet, brings language education expertise plus cultural depth and social nuance to the various lessons, enhancing and enriching the learning experience on many levels. There are also specialized offerings for leisure and business travellers.
